Monster at The Byron Nelson

Monster secured a villa on the 18th hole at this year’s Byron Nelson golf tournament. It was the perfect spot to host 50 guests from companies around the metroplex today. We even got to see Spieth putt one in!

I walked by Jordan Spieth doing what appeared to be a mini press conference!

Holland Elizabeth – 14 Months Old

This sweet thing just does not get nearly as much blog attention as Kessler did during her first year(s).

**Holland, when you are reading this some day, please know I love you just as much as Kessler. Mommy has a lot less free time to hop on a blog chasing you and your big sister around. But now that I have my new blog up and running, this should be a lot easier and I will do my best to post more!

So, Holland is 14 months old today! It is so fun watching her little personality come out. And she’s a funny one, at that. Here are some things:

  • Has 8 teeth.
  • Sleeps all night.
  • Loves to eat anything and everything.
  • Walking/running like a champ (has been walking since 12 months).
  • Opens doors and shutters on windows.
  • Does not say much. But her motor skills are amazing compared to Kessler during this time (who was saying a lot more).
  • She seems to understand most instructions and things we say.
  • She does say, “Hello!!” when she holds a phone to her ear. And I see her look into the monitor and say this to (as she has seen big sister do that).

Dinner at Cannon Chinese Kitchen

We got a tip on a house in the  Tanglewood area of Ft. Worth tonight, so we drove over to check it out. We didn’t like what we saw about the area from the outside, so we just kept on driving.

But I’m glad we went over there tonight because we were introduced to the most amazing Chinese food! It’s near the Magnolia area and in this cute little house that was originally built in the 30s. The shared plates were delicious and the wine selection was great. Yet I barely even drank a full glass of wine because I was too busy inhaling the food. Can’t wait to go back! And I recommend anyone to go!

Memorial Day

Many thanks to the men & women who have served, are serving, and will serve our country. It is a selfless sacrifice that I appreciate so much!

We started our morning checking out the new pool in our community that is officially open & for use. It’s about a 10 minute walk from our house, and I just might take the girls there everyday while the weather is good. Going there today got me VERY excited for this facility.

Mother’s Day 2015

We went to a Mother’s Day Tea at Eric’s moms church down in Duncanville the Saturday before Mother’s Day.

Eric’s sister, April, arranged for the kids to get their silhouettes cut out by this artist. Apparently it’s a “dying art” and I’m really glad we did it! We gave them as gifts to Eric’s mom (and I got copies for our house as well).

After, we went to dinner at Cafe Madrid and celebrated Mother’s Day. Eric and the girls got me a FitBit (which was an amazing gift as I love tracking my steps, calories burned, etc.).

Here is a pic of Kessler on my first Mother’s Day in 2012! Little cutie 🙂

On Mother’s Day, we had Eric’s family over for homemade bolognese. I have more pictures that I downloaded from my nice camera and I will update this later!

This picture cracks me up! I feel like this is what a “real” picture of what a mom wrangling her kids in for a sweet picture can often look like. 🙂 It usually takes a hundred pics to get that 1 good one!

Random May Pictures and Events

Our favorite breakfast place near our house, Old West Cafe. They do everything by smartphone, from texting you when your table is ready, you can check how many tables are in front of you, to ordering your food and shooting your order right to the kitchen. I wish every major restaurant had their system down!

I can never get enough of taking pics of the girls in a shopping cart together 🙂

Fun at the park! Holland is so much better about going down the slide than Kessler was at her age. We bought a little indoor slide for the playroom that Holland loves going down, and we didn’t give K as much exposure at a young age.

**Mommy Tip: My advice to new parents is to buy a little indoor slide and let your child learn as young as possible before they can decide they are afraid. We started H at 1! 🙂

We went to Main Event for an outing with Eric’s work. This is his manager’s son, Grey(son). They were such cute little friends this day!

I can never take enough bath time pics either!

Taking a run around our neighborhood with Kessler & Kahly!

I’m afraid to go through this path by the bridge. There are just SO. MANY. BIRDS. Likes hundreds. And they all start flying around as you run by them. I made it about half way one day and turned around. These pictures do not do them justice.

We stopped by Piccolo Mondo one evening after the kids were asleep. It’s a really good Italian restaurant really close to our house. And the best wine list in the Arlington area by far! A large selection from Napa and all over the world.

We had some REALLY good burgers at a place called LA Burger recently in Valley Ranch (Irving?). I would say one of the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back!

Eric’s famous veal marsala 🙂

This is what Kahly always does after I take her on a run. She will lay down wherever for a few hours!

Kessler wants to wear “one pigtail” lately. “Like mommy.”
